Most solid tumors contain hypoxic and nutrient-deprived microenvironments. The cancer cells in these microenvironments have been reported to exhibit radioresistance. We previously that nutrient starvation increases the expression and/or activity of ATM DNA-PKcs, which are involved repair DNA double-strand breaks induced by ionizing radiation. In present study, elucidate molecular mechanisms underlying phenomena, we investigated roles AMPK FOXO3a, play key cellular response starvation.
